Strawman Arguments Used By Christians

A question for atheists: Why do you choose to follow your personal desires rather than follow God's guidance?

The question is a strawman that actually reverses the facts. The Christians TRY to make it seem that there is a truth, and atheists do something else because of personal desires.

Instead of following personal desires the atheist follows the ideal of science in that something should be believed ONLY if there it can be demonstrated with evidence. No matter how logical, no matter beneficial, no matter how much the want to believe something, you should ONLY believe things supported by evidence.

Christians on the other hand wish they didn't have to die, and to they make up a theory about everlasting heaven that allows you to escape death. It is the personal desires that they choose to believe this without any evidence. FAITH is in fact simply personal desires: it is the act of believing what you want to believe even though there is no evidence for it.

Without the personal desires for the "good news" of there being life after death, there would be no Christianity.

And who wouldn't prefer life after death. The atheist would prefer life after death, it is only they DON'T follow their personal desires over established facts and evidence.
